What is Sudoku?

Sudoku is the logic puzzle with numbers: in a 9×9 grid split into nine 3×3 boxes, every row, every column and every box must contain the numbers 1 to 9 exactly once. You don't need to do any maths, just think. Every game is a new grid with a single solution.

How to play

• Tap an empty square, then a number on the keypad below the grid (or type the number).
• Each number must appear only once in each row, column and 3×3 box.
• Mistakes turn red; after 3 mistakes the game ends.
• Your score depends on the time taken and the mistakes.

Tips

• Look for the row, column or box with the most numbers already filled in.
• For each number, check which squares of a box it can still go in: if only one is left, that's the one.
