What is Ant Trail?

Ant Trail is a game unlike any other: you guide a colony of ants by drawing scent trails with your finger or the mouse. Every ant is a little creature that sniffs the scent in front of it and follows the strongest one, with a touch of imagination: the trails fade slowly, while the ants carrying food leave more scent and the most used path becomes a highway, just like in nature. Bring crumbs, leaves, strawberries and sugar cubes to the anthill: food makes new ants hatch and, in the underground view, the anthill grows by itself with new tunnels, the queen's chamber, the eggs and the pantries. Watch out for dangers: rocks to go around, the stream to cross by building a leaf bridge, the storm that washes away the trails and leaves puddles, and the spider that walks by and makes the ants run away. Every day there is the Daily mission, with the same map for everyone in the world and only one attempt that counts, to share with your friends; in the Free garden you go from level to level through the meadow, the vegetable garden, the picnic and the garden at night with fireflies. How to play

• Drag your finger on the screen (or hold the mouse button and drag) to leave a scent trail: start at the anthill and reach the food. With the keyboard, remote or controller, move the scent drop with the arrows or the stick and hold Space, Enter, OK or A to leave the trail.
• The ants follow the strongest scent they can smell, with a little randomness: when they find food they carry it home and make the trail stronger. Trails fade over time; the scent in the bottle (pink bar 💧) refills by itself.
• Every 2 pieces of food brought to the anthill a new ant hatches, and with food the underground anthill grows with new chambers.
• Dangers: rocks can't be crossed; the stream can only be crossed with the leaf bridge (bring the ants to the leaf on the bank: they push it into the water); the storm washes away the trails and leaves puddles; the spider makes the ants run away and the ones it catches are lost.
• Daily mission: same map, same food, same dangers and same goal for everyone in the world; only the first attempt counts (even if you reload the page), then you can replay it for fun; a new mission at midnight (UTC).
• Free garden: complete the mission of each level (meadow, vegetable garden, picnic, garden at night, then again but harder) and the colony moves on to the next level; the record is the total food collected on this device.
• Share: the game prepares a short text with the food carried, the ants in the colony and the time to send to your friends; it doesn't send any data.

Tips

• One short, straight trail from the anthill to the nearest food works better than many long trails.
• Go over the trail again when you see it fading: the ants coming back with food keep it alive, but at the start they need you.
• When the spider comes, draw a trail that leads the ants away from its path.
