What is Glidoo?

Glidoo is a one-finger snow sliding game: Glidoo the penguin, with his red scarf and snow goggles, belly-slides over endless hills and you decide when to dive. Hold (finger, mouse or Space) on the way down to pick up speed and let go on the way up: the top of the hill launches him into the air. Land parallel to the slope for a PERFECT landing that pushes him even harder, and three in a row trigger SUPER GLIDOO; in the air, holding makes him flip, but he has to land on his belly or he ends up head first in a snowdrift. Along the way you grab fish and snowflakes, jump over crevasses, sleeping seals, snowmen and cracks in the ice, and use power-ups like the sled, the snowboard, the propeller scarf and the rainbow. A friendly blizzard is chasing you: go too slowly and it catches up. Meanwhile night falls as you cross the Glacier, Snowy Forest, Aurora, Crystal Mountains and Ice Moon. How to play

• Glidoo slides on his own over the snowy hills. Hold (finger on the screen, mouse button, Space, Enter, down or up arrow, S or W; A on a controller) to dive: going downhill he picks up speed and sticks to the snow, going uphill he loses it.
• Let go on the way up: if he is fast enough, the top of the hill launches him into the air.
• Land parallel to the slope for a PERFECT landing: Glidoo speeds up and the perfect streak grows; three perfects in a row trigger SUPER GLIDOO (an extra boost, and the blizzard falls behind).
• In the air, hold to do a backflip; let go in time so Glidoo straightens up and lands on his belly: every successful flip gives speed. If he lands on his head he ends up in a snowdrift, stops for a moment and starts again more slowly.
• Grab fish and snowflakes (5 fish). The power-ups are the sled (no friction, snowmen and seals can't stop him), the snowboard (every landing is perfect), the propeller scarf (flies up and forward for 3 seconds) and the rainbow (super fast for 4 seconds, passes over crevasses and pushes the blizzard back).
• Snowmen, sleeping seals and cracks in the ice slow Glidoo down if he slides into them: better to jump over them. Jumping over a sleeping seal is worth 2 fish.
• A friendly blizzard follows Glidoo and keeps getting a little faster: the bar with the cloud shows how far away it is. The run ends if the blizzard catches him or if Glidoo falls into a crevasse. Your score is the distance in meters.
• The zones are Glacier, Snowy Forest, Aurora, Crystal Mountains and Ice Moon: further on night falls, the hills get higher and the crevasses wider.
• Daily Slide: hills, crevasses, fish, obstacles and power-ups are the same for everyone in the world; only your first attempt of the day counts (even if you reload the page), then you can replay it for fun; a new slide arrives at midnight (UTC).
• Free play: different hills every time; your record is saved on this device.
• Share your result: the game prepares a short text with your meters, zone, fish, flips and one square every 250 m, up to 12 (green for lots of perfect landings, yellow for a few, blue for none) to send to friends; it doesn't send any data.

Tips

• Hold as soon as Glidoo passes the top and let go when the snow starts climbing again: that rhythm makes him fly the farthest.
• Try to land right at the start of a downhill: a perfect landing gives a nice boost.
• Only do flips on high jumps and let go early, so Glidoo has time to straighten up.
• In front of a crevasse don't hold on the ramp: let go, so Glidoo jumps at full speed.
