What is Catapulto?

Catapulto is a throwing game with castles to knock down: a little knight loads a medieval catapult and takes aim at towers of wood, stone, ice and straw where cheeky little dragons live. Drag back, let go and watch the blocks crack and tumble: the dragons that get hit fly away with a funny puff, and nobody gets hurt. Every projectile has a power you use with a second tap in flight: the pumpkin smashes stone, the hay ball splits into three, the pine cone bounces and the lantern bursts into confetti. There are 36 levels in three worlds, up to three crowns per level and every day the Castle of the day, the same for everyone, to share with friends; play for free in your browser, on your phone too, with no sign-up.

How do you play Catapulto?

Drag back with your finger or the mouse: the direction sets the angle, the distance sets the power; the dots show the first part of the flight. Let go to throw. Keyboard and controller: up and down arrows for the angle, left and right for the power, Space, Enter or A to throw; Esc goes back to the menu. In flight, tap again (or press Space or A) to use the power: the pumpkin dives, the hay ball splits into three, the pine cone hops, the lantern bursts into confetti (also on its own at the first bump). The snowball has no power. Straw and ice break easily, wood is tougher and stone is very tough: the pumpkin smashes it. The little dragons fly away when they are hit hard or fall; when they have all flown away the castle is conquered. Points for every broken block and every dragon, plus 1,000 for every projectile left over. Crowns: 3 with 2 or more projectiles left, 2 with one left, 1 with none. Castle of the day: the same for everyone, only the first try counts (if you reload you carry on from the same point), new castle at midnight UTC. Levels unlock one after another and your crowns stay on this device. Share only prepares a short text.
